Privacy Policy

1. Information Stored On Your Device

The app stores practice preferences locally on your iPhone using Apple frameworks.

• Practice settings: duration, warm-up, bell settings, playback speed, and selected voice.
• Personalization inputs: names you enter for benefactors, friends/family, neutral people, and difficult people.
• Generated audio files: downloaded phrase audio and a manifest used for playback.

2. Account Sign-In Data

To generate personalized audio and track usage credits, the app supports sign-in with Apple or Google through Firebase Authentication.

• Authentication data may include: your user ID and, depending on provider permissions, email and display name.
• Purpose: authenticate your session and authorize backend requests.

3. Data Sent To Our Backend

When you request audio generation, the app sends data to our backend service.

• Sent fields: your selected voice/model, personalization name categories, and configuration hash.
• Auth token: Firebase ID token is sent to verify your account.
• Purpose: create your guided metta script, synthesize audio, and apply free/paid credit limits.

4. Third-Party Services

We use these providers to deliver core app functionality:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): account sign-in and identity tokens.
• Cloud Firestore (Google): our backend uses Firestore for usage/credit tracking and generated script metadata cache.
• Cloud Storage (Google): our backend uses Cloud Storage for temporary/private storage of generated audio files.
• ElevenLabs: text-to-speech synthesis for generated guided phrases.

5. Audio Generation And Caching

Generated phrases may be cached on the backend for repeat requests with the same configuration. The cache is keyed to your authenticated user context and generation settings.

The app downloads generated audio via time-limited signed URLs and stores it locally for playback.

6. Purchases And Credits

If credit packs are used, purchase claim requests may include store, product ID, and transaction ID (plus purchase token where applicable) for credit accounting and duplicate-claim prevention.

7. App Store Privacy Labels

Our App Store privacy labels summarize data types that may be associated with your account for core operation:

• Name
• Email Address
• User ID
• Purchase History
• Other User Content (including recipient names you enter)

• Purpose: App Functionality, and Product Personalization for user-entered recipient names.
• Linked to user: Yes.
• Tracking: No.

8. Data We Do Not Use

We do not use collected data for advertising, marketing, or analytics/tracking.

• No precise location tracking: the app does not request location permissions for core use.
• No cookies: the iOS app does not use browser cookies.
• No ad SDKs: we do not include third-party advertising SDKs in the iOS app.

9. Data Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Backend records are retained as needed for account operation, quota enforcement, purchases, and cached generation behavior.

10. Your Choices

• You can stop using the service by uninstalling the app.
• You can sign out at any time from within the app.
• You can contact us to request help with account or data questions.

11. Children's Privacy

Loving Kindness Metta is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will review and address the request.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest through platform and cloud-provider controls. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

13. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last Updated date on this page.
